Have you lost your way, your breast, your shoes, your job, your one true love, your bearings, your sanity, your sense of purpose? Are you stuck in the cosmic muck of your Saturn Return, of new sobriety, new motherhood, new marriage-hood, fresh grief, fresh grace, madness, sadness, metamorphosis? Starting January 8th, I will be teaching a 4 week Stone Fox W(rites) Nonfiction Writing Workshop called: "Love, Death, Dirt & Diamonds” for foxes in flux who want to put pen to paper and do some rigorous free radical deep diving into the recesses of their imagination. Through weekly writing exercises, workshops and IRL Q & A's, you will begin the process of abandoning artistic inhibition, exploring memories, embracing your authenticity and becoming comfortable with creative discomfort. I will help you craft and identify narrative themes and style. Outside of class, you will be expected weekly to read (and/or + listen) essays, short stories, poems and podcasts by Mary Gaitskill, Isabel Allende, Cheryl Strayed, Maya Angelou, Hannah Gadsby, Pearl Cleage, Arundhati Roy, Amy Hempel, Toni Morrison and more, write a short piece (1-3 pages) based on a prompt and comment on other student work (All participants’ writing will workshopped at least once). Classes will meet once a week for four weeks/2.5 hours at time. The classes will be meeting Thursday nights January 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. Classes will be free of devices, full of intensity, fast, furious, fun and full of creative insight and inspiration. Be prepared to listen, learn, write, read and rewire. Psychic change might occur.
