What's Your Story?: Feb - May 2022
Welcome to our February-April twice weekly virtual live workshop for storytellers looking to kick off 2022 with a creative bang. This class will provide you with deadlines, community and innovative assignments designed to tap your imagination and make narrative magic from the pain of your past. You will receive a syllabus featuring innovative memory prompts + long form essay assignments, engage in optional weekly live free writes and receive feedback on your work by a small + thoughtful group of like-minded creatives. You’ll also work your memory muscle to the max, learn how to create and expand characters like a pro, the art of shifting in between first, second and third person, balance two narratives at once, create tension and conflict, write scenes and summary, integrate key pop culture moments and personal references, write over over a two thousand words a week, and leave with a folder of essays that’ll blow your mind + heart wide open. You'll also be assigned an Action + Accountability Partner to dive deep and radically into one-on-one conversations designed to tone your easy-breezy true talking voice and merge it with the one you use for the page. No previous experience required. What you get: 10 classes, 8 free writes, 2 workshops, 1 creative ideation with Storytelling Spirit Guide Molly, access to our community of past students and Q&A’s with authors and Organizational One-On-One sessions with our Studio Manager/Teaching Assistant, Katie O’Donnell.
