What's Your Story? (Jan 17-Mar 27)
Welcome to our January-March 2024 virtual workshop for hungry writers in the early stages of seeding their stories. This class is for creatives-in-training craving deadlines, community and robust assignments designed to tap their imaginations and flow. You will receive a syllabus featuring innovative memory prompts + long form essay assignments, engage in optional weekly live free-writes and receive feedback on your work by a small + thoughtful group of innovators. You’ll also work your memory muscle to the max and learn the difference between scene and summary, how to write flashbacks and flashforwards, how to create characters with depth, the art of shifting in between first, second and third person, creating compelling dialogue, the importance of radical empathy, epistolary form (and more). You’ll write over over a thousand words a week, and leave with a folder of stories that’ll blow your mind + heart wide open. Space is limited, first come, first serve. No previous experience required.
