Tiny Story Hour Workshop - Thursday Mornings (Nov 21st-Dec 12th)
Join Molly Rosen Guy for BWC's first ever full-on Tiny Story Hour workshop. This vibrant, raucous new class format will demand your complete attention from the second you log into the classroom. Your imagination is the curriculum — no syllabi, readings, or outside assignments allowed. Each class will begin with a mini meditation and a tiny story told by MRG, followed by a five minute free write. Afterwards, each student will take the virtual stage, reading their piece and engaging in a rapid-fire Q+A with Molly as she transcribes your unfolding story in real time. In between classes, you’ll have the opportunity to return to your Tiny Story and flesh it out into a long-form first person essay. Each student will meet with Molly outside of class, one-on-one, to dig deeper into one of their stories with the hopes of one day pitching it to an outside publication. This improv group-format storytelling class is all about trusting your gut, becoming a better listener and allowing your imagination to guide you where it needs to go. You’ll leave each class with a new piece to work on in the week ahead, and at the end of the session you will have the beginning of several stories you didn't even know were dying to tell.
Class is capped at ten people. First come, first serve. If the cost of this course exceeds your financial capacity, please email info@brooklynwriterscollective.com and we will try our best to accommodate — if not this session, then a future one.
